The Oticon Agil (K210) is produced by the Danish manufacturer Oticon. Launched in Spring 2010 the Agil is available in 2 levels of technology, the Agil Pro (K220) (premium level technology) or the Agil (K210) (mid level technology).
The Oticon Agil is available as a BTE/RITE, Mini BTE/RITE, ITC and CIC meaning there is a style to suit everyone whether you have a mild or a severe to profound hearing loss.
The Agil has 10 fitting bands and 5 programs.
A big feature of the Agil is the multi-band adaptive directionality which gives optimised speech understanding by suppressing other multiple interfering background noises meaning that it focuses on the person speaking to you.
Connect + facility on the Agil enables Bluetooth connectivity to TVs, MP3 players and mobile telephones. Connect + also features Power Bass and Music Widening to give a fantastic sound when listening to music.
One feature of the Agil is the Tri States Noise Management which constantly analyses the sound environment the user is in and immediately adjusts the sound accordingly which really comes into effect when going from a quiet to noisy or noisy to quiet room. This ensures the wearer always benefits from a clear and comfortable sound.
Using the SpeechGuard facility the Agil adapts the background sound levels instantly, for example when going from quiet to noisy or noisy to quiet environment.
There are also assisted listening devices available called the Oticon ConnectLine system that can be combined with your hearing aids which enables the user to listen to music, landline telephone or TV much more clearly by beaming the sound direct to the hearing aids therefore helping to cut out other background noise. This also works like a remote control allowing the wearer to control their hearing aids at the touch of a button! Please note that Connectline is not compatible with all of the ITE/ITC styles.
The Agil is available in an exciting range of colours so whether you prefer subtle colours or something a little brighter there is a colour for you.
In summary the Oticon Agil is an mid technology level hearing aid with some good features and suitable for up to a severe to profound hearing loss. If you are looking for a higher technology hearing aid you may wish to consider the Oticon Agil Pro.
