One of my friends sometimes complains that her hearing aid causes pains in her ear. I told her it might be an ear infection and that she should get it checked out, but I think she might be right. If they make me hear better I would probably deal with the discomfort that comes with, but is it really true that hearing aids can cause ear pain? If so, what can be done to minimize or prevent such pain?
Hearing aids should not cause pain in the ears. In the first instance she should contact the person or place that provided the hearing aids. Some people are sensitive to having things in their ears but this should not be painful. There are many things that can be done including modification to the physical shape/size of the hearing aid(s). If there is an ear infection then your friend should see a doctor.
