The X Series is the new range of hearing aids from Starkey and has replaced the previous S Series. The X Series 70 (i70 wireless version) is the lowest level of technology in this range and is available in 3 styles, Wi, Xino and 3 Series.

Wi – These models are the wireless compatible option and can be paired with Starkey’s range of wireless accessories. They have a wide range of features along with compatibility to the following accessories..

  • Surflink Media Streamer – TV/Radio/MP3 Streamer
  • Surflink Remote Control – 3 Mode Remote Control
  • Surflink Mobile – Media streamer/remote control/mobile phone transmitter

The Wi is available in the following styles

RIC – (Receiver in Canal)

CIC – (Completely in Canal)

ITC – (In the Canal)

ITE – (In the Ear)

Xino – This is Starkeys cosmetic hearing aid option. It is a mini RIC (Receiver In Canal) and along with its discreet design, it includes a wide range of excellent features. The only difference to the other models is that this hearing aid is not wireless compatible.

3 Series -   At first, this hearing aid appears very similar to the Wi as it has the same features and the option of wireless compatibility.. This hearing aid, however, has been redesigned to make it even easier to use. Volume and setting control is now more user friendly thanks to the new switch design and has the Snapfit feature for easier receiver connection. The 3 series is available in the following styles:

RIC – (Receiver in Canal)

Mini BTE (Behind the Ear)

The X Series (i)70 has a range of features available.

Features Include:

  • 8 Channels – As each channel processes a range of frequencies, more channels means that the hearing aid can be more specifically programmed to your individual requirements.
  • 2 Levels of Personalisation – This allows your hearing aid to be personalised for the different listening environments you find yourself in the most.
  • Voice iQ2 – This is the noise reduction feature of these hearing aids. The X Series (i)70 has a  basic noise reduction strength of 6dB.
  • Audioscape – This enables the hearing aid to recognise noise patterns in different listening environments, working to ensure that speech is always given priority. The X Series (i)70 does not have adaptation levels like the (i)90 and (i)110, it can simply be turned on or off.
  • Feedback Eliminator -  Starkey’s Purewave technology helps to suppress any irritating whistling noises that can occur.
  • Self Learning – This feature means your hearing aid will can learn your personal volume preferences and adjust itself automatically
  • Swap Fit – With this feature you can have the settings from your old hearing aids transferred to the new ones by your audiologist.

The X Series (i)70 also features Starkeys Hydrashield technology. This can help to prolong the life of the hearing aid by giving it extra protection against substances such as wax or water.

In conclusion, the X Series (i)70 is the third level of technology currently available from Starkey and has a range of styles to suit your individual needs. It has several of the same features as the Starkey X Series (i)110 Hearing Aids and Starkey X Series (i)90 Hearing Aids but does not offer 3D speech mapping or adaptation levels and has significantly fewer channels. Whether it is wireless technology or cosmetics that are most important to you when choosing a hearing aid, this range has a style for everyone.
