Unitron is a Canadian company owned by the Sonova Group. This is a Swiss company that also owns David Ormerod Hearing Centres, which in turn owns Boots hearing care. They also own the manufacturer Phonak. Their UK head office is based in Warrington, Cheshire, right next door to Phonak's head office.Â
Unitron hearing aids are sometimes used by big national companies such as Boots as a low-cost alternative to Phonak. Often they offer lower specification or older products as a "budget" option. This is a little unfair to Unitron who is now a solid brand in their own right. The technologies used by Unitron and Phonak are very similar but not entirely the same. Unitron products represent excellent value for money and superb sound quality.
