Sudden Sound Stabiliser

The SI 2 softens sudden, loud sounds while preserving speech clarity. Though slightly less configurable than the SI 1, it still offers excellent protection from jarring environmental noises, contributing to a smoother listening experience.

Battery Life

The hearing aid uses disposable size 10 or 312 batteries (depending on the style), giving you several days of reliable power with no need for charging cables or docks—great for those who want simple day-to-day maintenance.

Limitations 

To maintain its small size, the SI 2 does not support Bluetooth streaming, app-based control, or rechargeable batteries—features found in larger custom or behind-the-ear models. However, it prioritises comfort, invisibility, and excellent sound quality where it matters most.

The difference between Oticon own SI 1 and Oticon own SI 2

The Oticon Own SI 1 and SI 2 are both advanced custom in-the-ear hearing aids powered by Oticon’s latest BrainHearing™ technology, but they differ in performance levels and features. The SI 1 is the top-tier model and offers more powerful neural noise suppression (up to 12 dB in difficult environments) compared to the SI 2’s 10 dB.

It also supports a wider bandwidth of up to 10 kHz, delivering clearer, more detailed sound, while the SI 2 is limited to 8 kHz.

Additionally, the SI 1 includes more Sudden Sound Stabilizer settings, as well as premium features like Clear Dynamics and full Better-Ear Priority for improved spatial awareness and sound precision—features either limited or absent in the SI 2.

These differences make the SI 1 better suited for users who spend time in complex or noisy environments and want the highest level of sound clarity and control.
