Resound Savi 3 Hearing Aids Overview

The Resound Savi 3 sits above the entry-level Savi 2 in Resound's new Savi range, and it makes a strong case for itself without asking you to pay premium prices.

Like the Savi 2, it succeeds the Resound Key and carries forward a reliable, well-regarded sound processing platform. Where it steps ahead is in the detail — more processing channels, smarter directional handling, and a Music Mode that makes a genuine difference if listening to music matters to you. Add in the same Bluetooth LE Audio and Auracast connectivity found across the Savi range, and the Savi 3 becomes a genuinely capable hearing aid for the money.

It won't match the deep AI-driven processing of Resound's flagship Vivia range. But for the vast majority of everyday listening — conversations in noisy spaces, streaming on the go, picking up a public broadcast at the theatre — the Savi 3 keeps up without fuss.

Bluetooth LE Audio and Auracast — genuine connectivity at this price

The Savi 3 shares the same connectivity platform as the Savi 2, and it remains one of the most impressive things about the range at this price point.

Full Bluetooth LE Audio means next-generation wireless audio streaming and hands-free calls via the Resound Smart 3D app. Auracast broadcast audio support means you can connect directly to public transmitters in theatres, cinemas, airports, and lecture halls — receiving audio straight to your hearing aids with a single tap through the integrated Auracast Assistant.

This works even if your phone doesn't yet support Auracast natively. It's the kind of connectivity that previously sat behind a much larger price tag.

Sound processing built for real listening environments

The Savi 3 uses 12 processing channels to shape amplification precisely to your individual hearing profile. The extra two channels over the Savi 2 give your audiologist more room to fine-tune across the frequency range, which translates to a more accurate, more comfortable fit — particularly if your hearing loss is uneven across frequencies.

Autoscope Adaptive Directionality is one of the features that genuinely separates the Savi 3 from the level below. The hearing aids automatically detect where speech is coming from and adjust their focus accordingly — so whether the person talking to you is beside you, behind you, or across a table, you're not constantly missing the voice you're trying to follow.

Adjustable Directional Mix lets you and your audiologist set the balance between focused directional sound and broader all-round awareness, tailored to how you live your life. Impulse Noise Protection quietly softens sudden sharp sounds — a slamming door, a dropped plate, a passing bus — before they reach your ears. Small in description, noticeable in practice.

Music Mode adjusts the hearing aid's processing specifically for music, preserving the dynamics and richness that standard hearing aid processing can flatten. If you listen to music regularly, this matters more than it might sound.

NoiseTracker II, DFS Ultra III, and Wind Guard handle background noise, feedback, and wind noise automatically in the background — so you're not managing settings, you're just getting on with your day.

Available models

The Savi 3 is available across all five Savi styles:

  • miniRIE (Rechargeable) — A slim Receiver-in-Canal design with no batteries to manage. Full day's use per charge, plus a quick-charge feature giving 2.7 hours of use from just 10 minutes of charging. Full Bluetooth LE and Auracast connectivity included.
  • RIE 61 (Size 312 Battery) — A compact battery-powered RIC with all the same connectivity features as the rechargeable model.
  • RIE 62 (Size 13 Battery) — The largest battery-powered option, with a built-in telecoil — particularly useful for venues with hearing loop systems such as theatres, churches, and public buildings.
  • ITC – In-the-Canal (Wireless) — A discreet custom-fitted option sitting in the ear canal. The first essential-range wireless ITC with Auracast support — no trade-off between connectivity and discretion.
  • CIC – Completely-in-Canal — The most discreet style in the range, sitting entirely within the ear canal and virtually invisible. Your audiologist will confirm whether this style suits your hearing loss and ear anatomy.

Savi 3 vs Savi 2 — is it worth stepping up?

The two models share the same connectivity, the same styles, and the same core sound processing platform. The Savi 3 adds:

  • 12 processing channels (vs 10 in the Savi 2)
  • Autoscope Adaptive Directionality
  • Adjustable Directional Mix
  • Impulse Noise Protection
  • Music Mode

For straightforward hearing loss with modest listening demands, the Savi 2 is a perfectly sound choice. If your days involve varied or challenging listening environments — busy social settings, noisy workplaces, situations where you're frequently tracking voices from different directions — the additional processing in the Savi 3 is likely to be worth it. Music lovers in particular will notice the difference. Your audiologist can help you work out which level makes sense for your lifestyle and budget.

Colour options

  • miniRIE: Sparkling silver, sand, bronze, espresso, deep black
  • RIE models: Beige, medium blonde, dark brown, sterling grey, black
  • ITC and CIC: Anthracite, light beige, beige, medium brown, brown, dark brown — plus blue, red, and clear shells

Compatible accessories

  • Multi Mic — Extends hearing range by up to 25 metres. Works as a table microphone, connects to loop and FM systems, and includes a mini-jack input for direct connection to a phone or tablet.
  • Micro Mic — Same core functionality as the Multi Mic, without the mini-jack input.
  • TV Streamer — Sends stereo sound from your TV, stereo, or computer directly to your hearing aids.
  • Remote Control — A straightforward way to make adjustments day-to-day without needing your phone.

Who is the Savi 3 for?

The Resound Savi 3 makes sense if you want Bluetooth LE Audio and Auracast connectivity without the cost of a premium range, spend time in varied or challenging listening environments and want a hearing aid that adapts intelligently, enjoy music and want processing that does it justice, are buying your first private hearing aid and want reliable, feature-rich performance, or are upgrading from an older Resound model — including any model from the Key range.
