Starkey G Series AI 10 hearing aids overview

Not everyone who needs a hearing aid needs the most sophisticated one available. Launched in May 2026, the Starkey G Series AI 10 is the foundation tier of the G Series AI range, available in both BTE (Behind-the-Ear) and RIC (Receiver-in-Canal) styles.

It connects to your smartphone via the My Starkey app, brings AI-assisted sound processing to the most accessible price point in the range, and the RIC model is rechargeable. What it does well is the daily essentials: clearer speech at home and in everyday conversation, automatic environment adjustment, and Bluetooth connectivity that works without needing separate accessories. What it does not do is handle demanding noise environments with the same depth of processing as higher tiers.

For people whose daily listening challenges are genuinely straightforward, that is not a limitation. For anyone less certain, the free hearing test will clarify which level is the right fit.

Every G Series AI 10 is fitted and fine-tuned in person by a fully qualified, registered audiologist. Your price includes your free hearing test, fitting, and free aftercare for the life of your hearing aids.

Quick highlights:

  • Foundation tier of the Starkey G Series AI range
  • Available in four styles: two BTE and two RIC (RIC models available in rechargeable and standard battery)
  • AI-assisted sound processing with automatic environment adjustment
  • Bluetooth streaming via the My Starkey app (same specification as higher tiers)
  • Telecoil for hearing loop compatibility (BTE models)
  • Rechargeable option available (RIC R model)
  • Compatible with the full StarLink wireless accessory range
  • Best suited to mild hearing loss and everyday domestic environments
  • Free hearing test, fitting, and aftercare for life are included in every price
  • 60-day money-back guarantee
What this level does well

The daily essentials, done consistently

The G Series AI 10 is at its best in the environments most people with mild hearing loss actually spend their time in: at home, in one-to-one conversation, in quiet social settings, and in everyday domestic life. The automatic adjustment between environments works without any input from you, which is already a meaningful step forward from NHS aids that require manual programme switching.

For anyone who wants modern Bluetooth connectivity and rechargeable convenience without paying for noise-processing capability they are unlikely to use, the 10 level delivers that reliably and well.

Being honest about its limits

In noisy environments, the AI processing at the 10 level is lighter than at any other tier in the range, and the difference becomes more apparent the more demanding the setting. If busy restaurants, large gatherings, or noisy workplaces are a regular part of your week, it is worth being clear about that before choosing this tier.

The good news is that the free hearing test takes the guesswork out of it. Your audiologist will make an honest assessment after your test and tell you clearly whether the 10 is the right fit, or whether the 12 or 16 level would serve you better in the long run.

Speech in noise

The G Series AI 10 delivers reliable speech improvement in quiet to moderate everyday environments. One-to-one conversations, telephone calls, and quiet social situations are all handled well. For people whose hearing challenges are genuinely mild and primarily domestic, this level covers what they need.

Models available

Power BTE 13:  The Starkey G Series AI 10 Power BTE 13 is a Behind-the-Ear hearing aid powered by a size 13 battery. It is available across five technology levels (24, 20, 16, 12, and 10) and comes in Silver, Beige, Graphite Grey, and Chestnut. It includes telecoil, Bluetooth streaming via the My Starkey app, and full compatibility with the StarLink accessory range.

Ultrapower BTE 13:  The Starkey G Series AI 10 Ultrapower BTE 13 shares the same Behind-the-Ear design and size 13 battery, and is available in the same five technology levels and four colours. Designed for greater amplification, it suits more significant levels of hearing loss while offering the same telecoil, app control, Bluetooth, and StarLink accessory compatibility as the Power model.

RIC R (Rechargeable):  The Starkey G Series AI 10 RIC R is a Receiver-in-Canal hearing aid, meaning the speaker sits in the ear canal rather than behind the ear, making it smaller and more discreet than a BTE style. It is rechargeable, so there are no small batteries to deal with, and it is waterproof up to one metre. Available in technology levels 12 and 10, and in Silver, Beige, Graphite Grey, and Chestnut. Includes app control and Bluetooth streaming.

RIC 312:  The Starkey G Series AI 10 RIC 312 shares the same discreet Receiver-in-Canal design but runs on a standard size 312 battery rather than recharging. Available in technology levels 12 and 10, and in the same four colours. Includes app control and Bluetooth streaming.

RIC or BTE at the 10 level?

Not sure which style suits you? Here is a straightforward way to think about it.

Choose the RIC if you have mild hearing loss, want a discreet rechargeable aid with Bluetooth streaming, and your main hearing challenges are in quiet everyday environments. It is the most popular style at this tier.

Choose the BTE if your hearing loss is more significant, you regularly attend venues with hearing loops, or you find a slightly larger aid easier to handle day to day. The BTE at the 10 level provides greater amplification alongside the same AI directionality as the RIC.

Still not sure? Your audiologist will recommend the right style after your free hearing test.

Connectivity

All G Series AI 10 models connect to iOS and compatible Android devices via the My Starkey app, allowing you to adjust volume, switch programmes, and stream audio directly from your phone. For anyone upgrading from NHS aids with no connectivity at all, this is one of the most immediately noticeable changes in daily life, and it works consistently at this level in exactly the same way as every other tier in the range.

The BTE models also include a telecoil. For anyone who attends venues with hearing loop systems, including many GP surgeries, theatres, post offices, and places of worship, this makes those environments significantly more accessible. Hearing loop coverage across UK public buildings is broader than most people expect, and telecoil puts that infrastructure to proper use.

All styles are fully compatible with the StarLink wireless accessory range:

  • TV Streamer
  • Table Microphone
  • Remote Microphone Plus
  • Mini Remote Microphone
  • Remote Control 2.0

G Series AI 24 vs the 10

These two tiers sit at opposite ends of the G Series AI range and are designed for fundamentally different hearing situations. The 24 runs the platform at full AI processing capacity, with the strongest noise management, speech separation, and environment detection that the range offers.

The 10 is built for mild hearing loss in quiet, everyday environments and has considerably less processing depth in any demanding situation. If noise is a consistent feature of your hearing challenges, the 24 level is where that is properly addressed. If your needs are genuinely mild and domestic, the 10 covers them at the most accessible price in the range.

Your fully qualified, registered audiologist will confirm the right tier for your hearing profile after your free hearing test.

Is this hearing aid right for you?

It could be the right choice if:

  • Your hearing challenges are genuinely mild and primarily at home or in quiet, everyday settings
  • You want modern Bluetooth connectivity and rechargeable convenience without paying for processing capacity you are unlikely to use
  • You are very new to hearing aids and want to start simply, with the reassurance of a 60-day money-back guarantee
  • You want the most accessible price point in the G Series AI range

It may not be the right choice if:

Background noise is a regular challenge in your daily life, or you have an active social life involving restaurants, gatherings, or events. In that case, the G Series AI 12 or 16 is a better long-term starting point, and your audiologist will say so after your hearing test.

FAQs

  • What is the difference between BTE and RIC hearing aids?

A BTE (Behind-the-Ear) hearing aid sits behind the ear, with a small tube or mould carrying the sound into the ear canal. It is a well-established style that works well across a wide range of hearing losses, and most people find it easy to handle day to day.
A RIC (Receiver-in-Canal) aid is smaller and sits more discreetly. The speaker goes directly in the ear canal, with just a slim wire running back to the body behind the ear. A lot of people prefer the lighter feel and find it less visible day to day.
  • Is the rechargeable RIC R model easy to manage?

Yes. You place the aids in their charging case overnight, and they are ready to use in the morning, with no small batteries to handle. This makes them a popular choice for anyone who finds fiddly battery changes difficult or inconvenient.
  • Is the G Series AI 10 a good starting point for someone new to hearing aids?

It is one of the most straightforward entry points in the range. You get genuine AI-assisted technology, full Bluetooth connectivity, and free aftercare for life, at the most accessible price in the G Series AI range. The 60-day money-back guarantee means you can try them with confidence. Your audiologist will confirm at your free hearing test whether the 10 level is right for your hearing profile, or whether the 12 or 16 would be a better long-term fit.
  • What is the 60-day money-back guarantee?

If you are not satisfied with your hearing aids within 60 days of purchase, you can return them for a full refund. No quibble. Your audiologist will talk you through this at the time of fitting.
  • What aftercare is included?

Free aftercare for the life of your hearing aids. Once your hearing aids are fitted, your local audiologist is there for the long haul. Whether you need a fine-tune, a follow-up, or just a question answered, it is all included at no extra cost.
