Resound Savi 2 Hearing Aids Overview

The Resound Savi 2 is the entry-level model in Resound's new Savi range — and it punches well above its price point in ways that will surprise people expecting to compromise.

As the successor to the Resound Key, the Savi 2 brings forward a proven sound processing platform in a fresh, modern design. But the headline feature is something that genuinely sets it apart from anything else at this price: full Bluetooth LE Audio and Auracast broadcast audio support — connectivity that, until now, you'd only find on far more expensive devices.

For most people, the Savi 2 will cover everything they need. It handles real-world listening environments well, connects directly to phones and public broadcast systems, and is available in the full range of Savi styles and colours. If you want reliable, modern technology without paying for features you'll never use, this is where to start.

Bluetooth LE Audio and Auracast — at an entry-level price

This is where the Savi 2 does something genuinely new.

Most entry-level hearing aids offer limited or basic Bluetooth. The Savi 2 includes full Bluetooth LE Audio — the next generation of wireless audio — alongside Auracast broadcast audio support. That means you can connect to public Auracast transmitters in theatres, cinemas, airports, lecture halls, and public venues with a single tap, receiving the audio directly in your hearing aids.

The built-in Auracast Assistant handles this seamlessly, and it works even if your phone doesn't yet support Auracast natively. This is connectivity that felt out of reach for entry-level hearing aids just a couple of years ago.

Sound processing that handles real life

The Savi 2 uses 10 processing channels to shape amplification precisely to your individual hearing loss profile. It's not the most channels available in the Savi family — the Savi 3 uses 12 — but for a straightforward hearing loss pattern, 10 channels delivers clear, natural sound without over-engineering the result.

NoiseTracker II works automatically in the background, detecting and reducing noise in challenging environments — busy cafés, family gatherings, open-plan offices — so you're not constantly adjusting settings as you move through your day.

DFS Ultra III handles feedback suppression quietly and reliably, preventing the whistling that can otherwise occur when the microphone picks up amplified sound. Wind Guard reduces wind noise for anyone who spends time outdoors.

Available models

The Savi 2 is available across all five Savi styles:

  • miniRIE (Rechargeable) — A slim Receiver-in-Canal design with no batteries to manage. Full day's use per charge, plus a quick-charge feature giving 2.7 hours of use from just 10 minutes of charging. Full Bluetooth LE and Auracast connectivity included.
  • RIE 61 (Size 312 Battery) — A compact battery-powered RIC with all the same connectivity features as the rechargeable model.
  • RIE 62 (Size 13 Battery) — The largest battery-powered option, with a built-in telecoil — particularly useful for venues with hearing loop systems such as theatres, churches, and public buildings.
  • ITC – In-the-Canal (Wireless) — A discreet custom-fitted option sitting in the ear canal. The first essential-range wireless ITC with Auracast support — no trade-off between connectivity and discretion.
  • CIC – Completely-in-Canal — The most discreet style in the range, sitting entirely within the ear canal and virtually invisible. Your audiologist will confirm whether this style suits your hearing loss and ear anatomy.

Savi 2 vs Savi 3 — is it worth stepping up?

The two models share the same connectivity, the same styles, and the same core sound processing platform. The Savi 3 adds:

  • 12 processing channels (vs 10 in the Savi 2)
  • Autoscope Adaptive Directionality
  • Adjustable Directional Mix
  • Impulse Noise Protection
  • Music Mode

For someone with a relatively simple hearing loss who mainly needs clarity in conversation and wants strong connectivity, the Savi 2 is a sensible, well-rounded choice. If your daily life involves complex listening environments — busy social settings, outdoor spaces, frequently following voices from different directions — the extra processing in the Savi 3 is likely to make a noticeable difference. Music listeners in particular will benefit from the Savi 3's dedicated Music Mode.

The best way to decide is to talk it through with your audiologist. They can match the technology level to how you actually live.

Colour options

  • miniRIE: Sparkling silver, sand, bronze, espresso, deep black
  • RIE models: Beige, medium blonde, dark brown, sterling grey, black
  • ITC and CIC: Anthracite, light beige, beige, medium brown, brown, dark brown — plus blue, red, and clear shells

Compatible accessories

  • Multi Mic — Extends hearing range by up to 25 metres. Works as a table microphone, connects to loop and FM systems, and includes a mini-jack input for direct connection to a phone or tablet.
  • Micro Mic — Same core functionality as the Multi Mic, without the mini-jack input.
  • TV Streamer — Sends stereo sound from your TV, stereo, or computer directly to your hearing aids.
  • Remote Control — A straightforward way to make adjustments day-to-day without needing your phone.

Who is the Savi 2 for?

The Resound Savi 2 makes sense if you want modern Bluetooth LE Audio and Auracast connectivity at the most accessible price in the Savi range, have a mild to moderate hearing loss with relatively straightforward amplification needs, are buying your first private hearing aid and want current technology without overspending, or are upgrading from an older Resound model and want something familiar in how it works but meaningfully better in what it can do.
