Free clinic appointments with a qualified audiologist near you, on your terms
Introduction
Getting your hearing looked after properly does not have to mean travelling to a busy city centre appointment or sitting in a waiting room. At YourHearing, we work with a nationwide network of over 200 fully qualified, registered audiologists across the UK, and whether you would prefer to meet your local audiologist at their premises or have them come to you at home, the standard of care is exactly the same.
This page explains what that looks like in practice, who it suits, and why so many people choose YourHearing when they are ready to take their hearing seriously.
Why see a local audiologist in person?
There is no single right way to approach a hearing appointment, and we are not here to tell you what works best for your life. What we can say is that many of our customers prefer the experience of meeting their audiologist in person, at least for the first appointment.
Some people find it reassuring to sit face-to-face with an expert before making any decisions. Others find it easier to focus when they are away from home, or simply prefer to keep healthcare appointments separate from their personal space. If you want to bring a partner, family member, or carer along, that is always welcome too.
Our local audiologists work from a range of convenient locations in your area. Wherever your appointment takes place, you will have all the time you need, no sales pressure, and no hidden charges.
What happens at your appointment?
Whether you visit your local audiologist or they come to you, a first appointment follows a straightforward process.
Your audiologist will start with a brief chat about your hearing history, any changes you have noticed, and what has prompted you to get in touch. Nothing too formal, just an honest conversation to help them understand your situation.
They will then carry out a quick, painless check inside your ears, looking for anything that might be affecting your hearing, such as a build-up of earwax. This is usually dealt with on the same visit if needed.
Next comes a full hearing assessment using the latest equipment. You will listen to a series of tones through headphones, and the results are mapped onto a simple chart (called an audiogram) that shows clearly how your hearing performs across different pitches. Your audiologist will walk you through what it means in plain English.
If hearing aids genuinely help, they will talk you through the options that suit your lifestyle, your level of hearing loss, and your budget. If they do not help, they will tell you that too.
Is a home visit a better option for you?
For many people, a free home visit is not just more convenient; it is genuinely the better choice. Your audiologist can fine-tune your hearing aids in the environment where you actually spend your time, connect them to your television or phone on the spot, and make sure you leave the appointment confident in how to use them.
If getting out and about is difficult, whether due to mobility, transport, or other commitments, a home visit removes that barrier entirely. There is no additional cost, and with over 200 audiologists covering towns and cities across the UK, you will not be waiting long.
We also support people living in nursing homes and care settings. If a loved one is struggling with their hearing and cannot easily travel, we can arrange a visit directly.
What is included in every Your Hearing appointment?
Every appointment, whether in person or at home, includes a full hearing assessment, fitting and programming by a fully qualified, registered audiologist, free aftercare for the life of your hearing aids, and the full manufacturer's warranty. You also have the reassurance of our 60-day full money-back guarantee.
Our prices are up to 40% less than the high street, with leading brands from Phonak, Oticon, Signia, Resound, Widex, and more. Because we are independent and impartial, the recommendation you receive will always be based on what is right for you, not on any brand affiliation.
