In late October 2023, Starkey unveiled the highly anticipated Starkey Genesis AI hearing aids, succeeding the well-regarded Starkey Evolv AI range introduced in the UK in January 2022. Positioned as the premium performance level within the lineup, the Starkey Genesis AI 24 offers a selection of RIC-RT, mRIC-R, rechargeable, and custom In-Ear models.

Neuro Sound Technology

The new Neuro Sound Technology integrated into the Genesis AI 24 hearing aids replicates the functions of the cerebral cortex, compensating for hearing loss by effectively "filling in the gaps" and processing sounds akin to a natural auditory system, operating at an astounding rate of 80 million times per hour.

This advancement ensures enhanced clarity in speech, improved sensitivity to softer sounds, and reduced listening strain, providing exceptional hearing experiences across various environments.

The Starkey Neuro Processor, the updated processing chip, plays a pivotal role in enhancing the device's AI capabilities, equipped with six times more transistors and four times the speed of its predecessors.

The Edge Mode+ feature enables real-time audio refinement, significantly reducing listening strain and offering intelligent health tracking and personal assistant functionalities.

In terms of aesthetics, the Starkey Genesis AI hearing aids feature a revamped design that sets them apart from earlier versions, with the Receiver in Canal (RIC) model boasting a more streamlined appearance. This redesign, coupled with the integration of smaller components, contributes to a more compact and visually appealing device.

This range of Starkey Genesis AI 24 hearing aids continues the brand's legacy of reliability and aesthetic appeal, with a discreet and comfortable design that ensures durability throughout extended daily use.

The lineup encompasses various models, including the Receiver in Canal devices, rechargeable In-Ear aids in full and half shell designs, as well as non-wireless Completely in Canal (CIC) and Invisible in the Canal (IIC) options, catering to diverse user preferences and needs.

The battery life of the Genesis AI 24 is equally impressive, with the rechargeable battery offering up to 51 hours of use on a single charge, while the miniRIC model guarantees 41 hours of continuous power, providing users with extended usage for outdoor activities without the need for frequent recharging. 

The larger In-Ear devices offer an impressive 36 hours of battery life, setting a new benchmark for hearing aid battery capabilities.

Addressing previous criticisms, the new user-friendly Starkey app aims to simplify the user experience, incorporating 'how-to' videos and focusing on the most beneficial features for users.

The Genesis AI 24 hearing aid also retains its key offerings, including a choice between disposable or rechargeable batteries, advanced Bluetooth connectivity, hands-free calling for iPhone users, and the indispensable Deep Neural Network (DNN) for managing background noise, now capable of executing 80 million adjustments per hour.
