The Clear 220 is an entry technology level hearing aid with some good features. If you prefer a higher technology level hearing aid then you may wish to consider the Clear 330
The Danish hearing aid manufacturer Widex launched their ‘Clear’ range of hearing aids in April 2010.
The Clear range comes in 3 technology levels to suit all budgets. The Clear 440 is premium range, Clear 330 is mid-range and the Clear 220 is entry level technology.
Below are just some of the features of the Clear 220 and their advantages
Models and Styles. The Clear 220 is available in 6 models from Receiver in the ear/canal, Micro BTE (behind the ear), BTE (behind the ear), CIC (completely in canal), and ITE (in the ear). With all these to choose from there is a style just for you.
Channels and programs. An important part of any hearing aid is the amount of channels it has as this will enable the hearing aid to be programmed closer to the users audiogram (hearing test) therefore giving much better results for the wearer. The Clear 220 has 5 channels and 3 programmes.
Wireless Technology. An excellent feature of the Clear 220 is wireless technology. Wireless technology means for anyone wearing 2 hearing aids both hearing aids ‘talk’ to each other. In nature our 2 ears work together in a similar way. One example of wireless technology is that if the battery power was low in one hearing aid a recorded voice (or tone if preferred) tells you in the other ear!. Changes in the listening environment (loud to quiet or quiet to loud sounds) are easily catered for because wireless technology adjusts the hearing aids instantly. Clear 220 wireless connectivity enables the binaural hearing aids to communicate with each other 21 times per second!
Audibility Extender. The Audibility extender reproduces sounds from an area that the user cannot hear to an area that they can hear.
Tinnitus. Anyone who suffers from tinnitus knows how distressing this condition can be. Available in the Clear 220 is a feature called ZEN. ZEN uses a selection of tones and sounds to help manage and relieve tinnitus symptoms.
Assisted Listening Devices. With the Clear 220, assistive listening devices can be combined with your hearing aids. The assisted listening devices beam the sound from your mobile telephone, TV or music direct to your hearing aids. You can also opt for a remote control which allows control of your hearing aid by simply touching a button.
Range of colours. The Clear 220 RITE/RIC, Micro BTE and BTE are available in a large selection of colours so weather you prefer subtle colours or something a little brighter there is a colour for you.
Summary. The Clear 220 is an entry technology level hearing aid with some good features. If you prefer a higher technology level hearing aid then you may wish to consider the Widex Clear 330 or the Widex Clear 440.
