The Mind range of hearing aids is a ‘family’ of hearing aids available in 3 levels of technology, the Mind 440 (high end technology range), Mind 330 (mid range) and Mind 220 (entry level range).
The Danish hearing aid manufacturer Widex launched the Mind 440 range in September 2008, the Mind 330 in May 209 and the Mind 220 in September 2011. Mind comes in 5 models from Micro behind the ear, 2 models of BTE, (behind-the-ear), CIC (completely-in-canal), and finally ITE (in-the-ear). From this large selection there is a model to suit everyone
The Mind 440 has the advantage of 15 channels and 5 programmes and is a high end technology level hearing aid. The Mind 330 has 10 channels and 4 programs while the Mind 220 has 5 channels and 3 programs.
The Mind range encompasses Audibility Extender which takes sounds that the user is unable to hear and reproduces them to where the wearer has some hearing.
An impressive feature of the Mind is the Speech Enhancer technology which allows the user to hear conversations where there is also background noise by minimising the background noise therefore making conversations much clearer
Tinnitus can be a distressing problem for many. The Mind range has available a feature called Zen. Zen uses sounds and tunes to help the wearer control their tinnitus symptoms.
Widex has encorporated into the Mind series a verbal messaging system called SmartSpeak. With SmartSpeak the user will hear a recorded voice talking you through functions of the hearing aid eg battery power or program mode
Some of the Mind styles are FM compatible meaning that you can add remote controls, tv and phone adaptors which beam the sound direct from the tv or phone to the hearing aids thus helping to eliminate background noise.
For the fashion conscious, the Micro BTE and BTE models are available in an exciting range of colours.
In summary the Widex Mind series of hearing aids are available in 3 levels of technology, the Mind 440 (high-end level technology), the Mind 330 (mid level technology) and the Mind 220 (entry level technology). With a wide selection of technology and styles, whether your hearing loss is minimal to severe there is a model to benefit you and your budget.
