Oticon Alta2

This is the Premium wireless hearing aid from Oticon which uses their latest Inium Sense processing chip. With greater processing power than previous models, there are plenty of great programs and features to enhance your listening experience.

Main features

16 Channels controlled by 10 bands

Channels are used to process and amplify each sound frequency before you hear it. The more bands a hearing aid has, the better the channels in the hearing aid can be fine tuning to your hearing loss, giving you greater sound quality. With 16 channels this hearing aid is suitable for many different listening environments.

Noise reduction

This program is for dealing with the distraction of background noise when trying to listen to conversation. It can recognise the sounds of speech and reduce the effect of other noise around you, making it easier to engage in the conversation.

BrainHearing Technology

This new technology from Oticon works to enhance your listening experience by letting both hearing aids work together. Through their wireless ability they can communicate with each other and ensure they are always on the same volume and program setting through Binaural Coordination. Binaural Synchronisation helps them to adapt to your environment by synchronising the noise reduction and directional microphone settings. It also allows you to stream a telephone conversation to both hearing aids at the same time to make talking on the phone easier.

Soft Speech Booster

This program recognises the soft, harder to hear speech sounds and enhances them making conversation easier to hear. This program is ideal for those with hearing loss in the higher frequencies who often find it difficult to hear the beginning or end of words.

YouMatic Premium

This program allows the wearer to have 5 different program options tailored to their own hearing needs for different situations.

FreeFocus

The FreeFocus program controls the direction of the microphones. The Alta2 has 5 different direction modes which allow the wearer to hear speech with more clarity in difficult environments. The microphones can pick up the speech sounds coming from different directions making it easier to hear someone even if they are not standing in front of you. Because the microphones are focussed on speech, the effect of background noise is reduced.

SpeechGuard E

Designed for listening to speech in quieter environments this program enhances speech sound and adapts to the surrounding environment, so a sudden increase in background noise isn’t uncomfortable for the wearer.

Inium Feedback Shield

This feedback program removes the annoying sound of feedback before you know it’s there, and without distorting the sounds you want to hear.

The Alta2 is available in a range of colours and styles to fit your needs. Styles include Completely In Canal (CIC), In The Canal (ITC), In The Ear (ITE), mini Receiver In The Ear (miniRITE), Receiver In The Ear (RITE) mini Behind The Ear (miniBTE) and Behind The Ear (BTE).

All styles have wireless capability. The RITE, miniBTE and BTE styles all come with a volume control. The ITC, RITE and BTE styles also have a telecoil.
