The Clear 440 contains the highest level of technology which combined with such excellent features make it a hearing aid that will impress the most discerning of users.
The Danish hearing aid manufacturer Widex launched their ‘Clear’ range of hearing aids in April 2010.
The Clear range comes in 3 technology levels to suit all budgets. The Clear 440 is premium range, Clear 330 is mid-range and the Clear 220 is entry level technology.
Below are just some of the impressive features of the Clear 440 and their advantages
Models and Styles. The Clear 440 is available in 6 models from Receiver in the ear/canal, Micro BTE (behind the ear), BTE (behind the ear), CIC (completely in canal), and ITE (in the ear). With all these to choose from there is a style just for you.
Channels and programs. An important part of any hearing aid is the amount of channels it has as this will enable the hearing aid to be programmed closer to the users audiogram (hearing test) therefore giving much better results for the wearer. The Clear 440 has 15 channels and 5 programmes.
Wireless Technology. An excellent feature of the Clear 440 is wireless technology. Wireless technology means for anyone wearing 2 hearing aids both hearing aids ‘talk’ to each other. In nature our 2 ears work together in a similar way. One example of wireless technology is that if the battery power was low in one hearing aid a recorded voice (or tone if preferred) tells you in the other ear!. Changes in the listening environment (loud to quiet or quiet to loud sounds) are easily catered for because wireless technology adjusts the hearing aids instantly. Clear 440 wireless connectivity enables the binaural hearing aids to communicate with each other 21 times per second!
Audibility Extender. The Audibility extender reproduces sounds from an area that the user cannot hear to an area that they can hear.
Clear FreeFocus technology. This means the wearer can hear sounds from selected directions – and they don’t even need to turn their head! This is a distinct advantage in certain circumstances for example when listening to someone sat beside you.
Tinnitus. Anyone who suffers from tinnitus knows how distressing this condition can be. Available in the Clear 440 is a feature called ZEN. ZEN uses a selection of tones and sounds to help manage and relieve tinnitus symptoms.
Assisted Listening Devices. With the Clear 440, assistive listening devices can be combined with your hearing aids. The assisted listening devices beam the sound from your mobile telephone, TV or music direct to your hearing aids. You can also opt for a remote control which allows control of your hearing aid by simply touching a button.
Range of colours. The Clear 440 RITE/RIC, Micro BTE and BTE is available in a large selection of colours so weather you prefer subtle colours or something a little brighter there is a colour for you.
Summary. The Clear 440 contains the very highest level of technology which combined with such excellent features make it a hearing aid that we are sure will impress the most discerning of users. If you are interested in this type of hearing aid but would like to take full advantage of the new technology available then you may want to try the Widex Clear 330 or the Widex Clear 220. which have more features and more sound processing channels.
