However, this release did not cater to ITE hearing aid wearers, leaving them without access to this groundbreaking technology. That changes now with the arrival of Oticon Own, offering custom solutions to ITE users.

The Oticon Own 5 hearing aids present an entry-level performance option, incorporating the BrainHearing Technology for a superior listening experience. While some core features offered by this hearing aid range might be absent, it's essential to consult an audiologist to understand which features are not available and if they align with your specific hearing needs.

Comparing Oticon Own 5 with Own 1, expect fewer processing channels, fitting bands, and a reduced percentage in the Spatial Balancer feature.

Oticon Own 5 Hearing Aid Styles:

Invisible in the Canal (IIC): Truly invisible, non-wireless hearing aid for mild to severe hearing loss. Water and dust resistant, powered by a size 10 battery.
Completely in the Canal (CIC): Non-wireless hearing aid slightly larger than IIC, suitable for mild to severe hearing loss. Water and dust resistant, equipped with a size 10 battery and optional push button. Includes binaural connection for improved directionality.
In the Canal (ITC): Bluetooth-enabled hearing aid powered by a size 312 battery. Features telecoil, water and dust resistance, and Telehealth. Optional push button and binaural connection between hearing aids for improved directionality.
In the Ear Full Shell (ITE FS): Ideal for those with dexterity issues, powered by a size 312 battery. Water and dust resistant, equipped with Bluetooth, Telecoil, Telehealth, suitable for mild to severe hearing loss. Optional push button and binaural connection.
In the Ear Half Shell (ITE HS): Suitable for mild to severe hearing loss, water and dust resistant, Bluetooth, Telecoil, Telehealth. Ideal for those with dexterity issues, with an optional push button and includes a binaural connection between hearing aids to improve directionality.

Oticon Own hearing aids will soon be compared to the Phonak Virto Paradise and Starkey Evolv AI, as all are ITE models set at similar price points. The distinctive advantage of Oticon Own lies in its more advanced operating system, utilising DNN and sophisticated AI processes compared to others. As a result, new Oticon hearing aids require approximately 30% less listening effort than older aids, offering unmatched convenience and clarity.

Bluetooth Connectivity of Oticon Own 5 Hearing Aids

As previously mentioned, Bluetooth connectivity is available in the ITC and both ITE models, with the IIC and CIC styles remaining non-wireless. The Oticon Own 5 hearing aids provide direct streaming to both iPhone and Android devices, allowing you to access hands-free calls from iPhones and iPads using your hearing aids as personal headphones.

While none of the Oticon Own 5 hearing aids are rechargeable, it's worth noting that only two styles offer Bluetooth connectivity, necessitating a choice between features and size. Additionally, these two Bluetooth options can have an added telecoil feature, though not both. This once again requires a thoughtful decision to prioritise between connectivity and this feature.
