Introduction

The Phonak Audeo Life Lumity L70 hearing aids, launched in August 2022, mark Phonak's second-generation rechargeable waterproof hearing aid. Featuring AutoSense OS 5.0 technology, they promise enhanced speech enhancement and directional microphones, aiming to deliver improved speech clarity amidst background noise.

Performance and Features

Though lacking a telecoil, these hearing aids feature a push button, are waterproof up to 1.5m, and can withstand submersion for up to 30 minutes, catering to active lifestyles. Sweatproof and equipped with health data tracking features, they offer a viable solution for individuals requiring resilient hearing aids.

Advanced Technologies for Enhanced Hearing

StereoZoom 2.0 technology adjusts focus levels in response to changing background noise, offering approximately 2.5 dB better signal-to-noise ratio. The SpeechSensor technology enhances speech understanding by detecting the direction of the primary speech signal, with claims of a 15% improvement in understanding speech from the rear and sides and an 11% reduction in listening effort. Motion Sensors and 360-degree listening further enhance clarity in various listening environments.

 

 Connectivity and Accessories

Compatible with both iPhone and Android smartphones, the Phonak Audeo Life Lumity L70 hearing aids offer universal connectivity and can pair with multiple Bluetooth-enabled devices. Accessory options include PartnerMic, Remote Control, TV Connector, RogerDirect, and the myPhonak App, enhancing usability and functionality.

Personalisation

The myPhonak app enables users to access health-tracking features, personalise sound focus with the Speech Focus Slider, and utilise Remote Care for tailored listening experiences and telehealth services. The Remote Virtual Appointment feature allows on-the-go adjustments with audiologists via Telehealthcare, offering convenience and customisation.

Available in eight colour options, including Sand Beige, Chestnut, and Velvet Black, the Phonak Audeo Life Lumity L70 hearing aids combine functionality with aesthetics, catering to individual preferences and styles.

When comparing with the Phonak Audeo Life Lumity L90 hearing aids, the L70 model lacks certain features.

- Comfort in Echo, reducing noise for enhanced comfort without speech.

- Speech in Car, adapting and reducing noise from behind automatically and adjusting the signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) accordingly.

- Speech in Loud Noise, focusing on conversation in front, providing more speech intelligibility and less listening effort in noisy environments.

- EchoBlock, improving the listening experience in large open spaces by removing reflections of reverberant sounds.
