| Update: This hearing aid is now discontinued.
The Audeo Q 30 was launched in 2013. It is the most basic level of RIC (Receiver In Canal) hearing aid from Phonak's older generation of aids, the Quest series. It replaced the previous Audeo S3.
The Audeo Q30 is available in three style options and offers a choice of traditional and vibrant colours
- Audeo Q-312 –This is a more cosmetic looking hearing aid and incorporates wireless capability and a Tinnitus Balance Sound Generator
- Audeo Q-312T – This is a slightly larger hearing aid which offers wireless compatibility, the new Tinnitus Balance Sound Generator and Telecoil option.
- Audeo Q-10 – A sleek designed non-wireless hearing aid that has the Tinnitus Balance Sound Generator
New Features
The Audeo Q 30 has many of the features from the previous Audeo S 1 and also new Binaural VoiceStream ones. This allows your hearing aids to communicate and work together to further improve your hearing.
- Tinnitus Balance Sound Generator – Using different sounds, this feature helps with managing the annoying symptoms of tinnitus. It also incorporates the new Tinnitus Balance App which is compatible with Apple and Android devices to give access to even more sound options.
- Acclimatisation Manager – This automatically alters the amplification levels of your hearing aids and also allows for manual adjustment.
Other features include
- 8 Channels – The channels on your hearing aids will process a range of different frequencies so the more channels there are, the more specifically it can be programmed for your individual hearing loss.
- Ultrazoom– A Binaural microphone application which is designed to improve speech capture and noise cancellation.
- Whistleblock – This helps to get rid of irritating feedback sounds that may occur.
- Soundrecover – This feature helps to improve your ability to hear the higher frequency sounds.
- Noiseblock – This helps to eliminate any unwanted background noise.
The Audeo Q30 has wireless capable options so can be paired with Phonak’s range of accessories.
Accessories include
- Phonak Compilot – Streamer worn around the neck
- Phonak TV Link S – Tv transmitter/compilot charger
- Phonak Mypilot – One touch display screen remote control
- Phonak PilotOne – Basic remote control
In conclusion, the Phonak Audeo Q30 is a solid and reliable aid. Its main benefit is that it is the least expensive hearing aid that Phonak make so if you are looking for a basic hearing aid and are on a budget then it may be a good choice.
As a basic hearing aid, this model has significantly fewer channels and lacks many of the features available on the other Audeo Q models.
If you are interested in this type of hearing aid but would like to take full advantage of the new technology available then you may want to look at the Audeo V series of aids which have more features and more sound processing channels.
If you would prefer a different style of hearing aid then you may want to try the BTE (Behind the Ear) model, the Bolero Q50 or the ITE (In The Ear) model, the Virto Q50. Find out all the latest information and view the complete range from Phonak Audeo Q Hearing Aids range here.
